James McLeod Plaque

Subject

Commemorative Plaque

Description

This plaque commemorates a very special figure in the history of the Church. James McLeod was welcomed by the Church with open arms even though he was diagnosed with AIDS. The Meridian Woods Church of Christ stood by their mission to welcome everyone with open arms as they did with McLeod. McLeod sat in the same upper right corner pew throughout his time because he did not want to make any others feel uncomfortable.
